Clamping and Positioning Systems
Clamping and Positioning Systems for Highest Precision and Process Forces
The functional principle of the reference chuck is that it is adapted to the process forces that occur. The clamping elements (whether balls, rollers, segments or screws) are chosen to execute the optimal transmission of clamping and process forces.
RCS Roller Clamping System | Reference Clamping System for Tools and Workpieces
RCS

Highest precision and clamping force
Positioning accuracy of +/- 0,001 mm combined with maximum clamping forces of up to 65 000 N.
Modular design
Adaptation to the shape and sizes of tools and workpieces as well as to different process forces.
Size graduation
Product sizes cover all tool and workpiece requirements.
Functionality
The chuck is opened by compressed air, the pallet is inserted and the pallet is clamped by a spring-based clamping mechanism by depressurizing the chuck. To unclamp the pallet, the chuck must be opened again by applying pressure.
The chucks can be operated with different pallet shapes. The pallet is inserted manually or automatically with a repeatable positioning accuracy of +/- 0,001 mm.

Innovative roller clamping system

The patented roller clamping system with multi-shaped clamping rollers enables the highest clamping forces in the smallest installation space. Compared to clamping with balls, four times higher clamping forces are achieved. At the same time, significantly higher pull-out forces can be absorbed.
Basic principle of RCS chuck

Pallets of various designs can be clamped in the RCS clamping system. The pallets are prepared for automation with a gripper groove and an identchip holder.

Adaptations RCS to RCS clamping system
Adaptation and equalization of different filling heights, punch lengths and system sizes – system change.

Adaptation RCS 60 to RCS 60 | Compensation of punch lengths

Adaptation RCS 60 to RCS 95 | Compensation of system sizes
Compressed air for opening, cleaning and monitoring the adaptation chuck is provided by the basic chuck with the aid of air docks. The air dock in the basic chuck and the pallet of the adaptation chuck automatically establishes the compressed air connection. Optionally, the compressed air can also be supplied radially from the outside to the adaptation chucks using hose couplings.
