Clamping and Positioning Systems
Clamping and Positioning Systems for Highest Precision and Process Forces
The functional principle of the reference chuck is that it is adapted to the process forces that occur. The clamping elements (whether balls, rollers, segments or screws) are chosen to execute the optimal transmission of clamping and process forces.

for Tools and Fixtures
PRS

Maximum precision and holding force
Positioning accuracy of +/- 0,005 mm combined with holding forces up to 25 000 N.
Modular design
Adaptation to tool geometry and different process forces.
Size graduation
The smallest size can be combined with the smallest reference clamping system RCS and PMC. Various pallet sizes cover the tooling and pressing requirements.
Functionality

The chuck is opened by compressed air, the pallet is placed on top and the pallet is clamped by a spring-based clamping mechanism by depressurizing the chuck. To unclamp the pallet, the chuck must be opened by applying pressure.
The chucks can be operated with different pallet shapes. The pallet is inserted manually or automatically with a repeatable positioning accuracy of +/- 0.005 mm.

Pallets in various sizes can be clamped in the PRS 28-C chuck.

Through hole diameter of various clamping systems for core rods:
- ProGrit RCS 60 = 28,5 mm
- EROWA PM 56/60 = 25 mm
- System 3R° Macro° 90803.50 and 90804.41 = 23 mm (draw bar 16 mm)
- System 3R° Macro° 600.17 and 600.27 = 20 mm (draw bar 10,2 mm)
The pallets are available in two versions:
- Centered clamping:
The pallet is centered and clamped at a fixed angle of rotation in the chuck.
(PRS P18, PRS P21, PRS P23, PRS P27, PRS P27ID) - Positioned clamping:
The pallet is clamped via a positioning system referenced in X, Y, Z and C.
(PRS P28P, PRS P28P ID)
There are different pallet shapes and fastening methods for attaching the core rod to the pallet:
