Clamping and Positioning Systems

Clamping and Positioning Systems for Highest Precision and Process Forces

The functional principle of the reference chuck is that it is adapted to the process forces that occur. The clamping elements (whether balls, rollers, segments or screws) are chosen to execute the optimal transmission of clamping and process forces.

MCS Manual Clamping System | Reference Clamping System for Tools and Workpieces

MCS

Maximum precision and clamping force

Positioning accuracy of +/- 0,001 mm combined with maximum clamping forces up to 2 500 kN.

Modular design

Adaptation to the shape and size of the punch and die as well as to different pressing forces.

Size graduation

Product sizes cover all tooling and pressing requirements. Used for coaxial and multiaxial compaction combined with high pull-out and compaction forces.

Functionality

The chuck is clamped and opened using screws. Tools or workpieces can be screwed directly into the chuck or clamped with screws via a bayonet ring. Positioning takes place via the SCS K cone positioning system.

The chucks can be operated with different pallet shapes. The pallet is inserted manually with a repeatable positioning accuracy of +/- 0,001 mm.

Manual clamping system MCS PR, MCS PT and MCS PM for single and multi-level applications

There are a variety of designs for the manual clamping of one or more punches. Clamping is essentially carried out using screws with or without a bayonet clamping ring. Positioning is carried out using the SCS K positioning system with a positioning accuracy of +/- 0,001 mm. The high pressing forces are transmitted via scalable Z0 surfaces of the MCS clamping systems.

MCS PR for clamping of one punch size

MCS PM for clamping of 3 punch sizes - small / medium / large

MCS PT for multi-level application

Single level application for compaction of iron, ceramics and carbide powder up to 1000 tons compaction force

Multi level application for compaction of iron powder up to 300 tons compaction force

MCS reference clamping system for any basic shape

The great advantage of the MCS reference clamping systems is that both, the SCS K positioning cones and the clamping screws, can be flexible arranged as required. This means that the MCS system is not limited to round basic shapes, but can be defined and built in any shape.
