ProGrit supplies a multiaxial compaction system for the economical and high-precision production of complex geometries:

  • Complete tool system

Multiaxial compaction systems are superior to the MIM manufacturing process in terms of economy and precision for complex geometries and can substitute the MIM process.

Multiaxial compaction can basically be divided into four different processes, all of which are supported by the multiaxial compaction system.

Splitted die 4 fold, adjustable mechanical stops, filler plate

The “open” and “splitted” die processes require high-precision adjustable mechanical stops against which the die segments can be clamped.

The high-precision mechanical stops are integrated in the die body and can be adjusted from above in 1 µm steps using adjusting screws. The die body guides the die segments and is positioned and bolted to the vertical pressing axis with high precision via the SCS K cones and the MCS C260 exchangeable plate.

The mechanical stops can be set outside the press or on the press using the MAS-xi measuring system or the respective upper punch.

The adaptation to the part geometry will be done by the die segments. The die body with the adjustable mechanical stops can be used in accordance to twofold to sixfold arrangement several times.

The basic die body with adjustable mechanical stops is available for 2 to 6-fold arrangements and can also be used without stops if required.

The side punches or die segments are driven by electric precision axes. There are several sizes to choose from – a narrow EDU 60/30 drive unit with a pressing force of 6 tons up to the EDU 350/30 drive unit with a pressing force of 35 tons. In addition to the very high forces and travel speeds, the electric drive units are characterized by very high controlled positioning accuracies and optional piezoelectric force measurement.

Alternatively, the side punches and die segments can also be driven by hydraulic drives.

The die base body with the adjustable mechanical stops and the die segments is screwed into the MCS C exchangeable plate and is therefore positioned with an accuracy of +/- 0,001 mm to the vertical press axis.
