Table Ware Production | Isostatic Dry Pressing With Referenced Tools
Table Ware
High-precision clamping of molds
Fast and accurate positioning of the two tool halves for isostatic dry pressing of ceramic tableware by using reference clamping systems.
Shortest manual / automated changeover times
Fast, precise changeover times - whether manual or automated - enable cost-effective production of even the smallest batch sizes and reduce scrap rates.
Maximum reduction in post-processing
The precise positioning of the two press tool halves prevents or minimizes burr formation on the pressed part, which significantly reduces or eliminates the need for edge reworking.
Isostatic dry pressing of tableware ceramics with referenced tools
The fast and accurate positioning of the two tool halves for isostatic dry pressing of ceramic tableware requires the use of reference clamping systems. The combination of PPS clamping systems with a SCS K positioning system is the simplest and most cost-effective solution for the tableware production process.
The isostatic dry press is equipped with two PPS SCS K clamping systems. With the help of the TPS 3i alignment system, both special clamping systems are aligned precisely with each other in X, Y, and C. The clamping systems are opened pneumatically and then pick up the two mold halves. Clamping is achieved by depressurizing the two clamping systems with the aid of a spring-operated clamping mechanism.
The two tool halves are positioned in a high precision by using the SCS K positioning system. For this purpose, both tool halves are equipped with 4 SCS K positioning cones each.
The lower stamp with the hydraulic diaphragm is equipped with a hydraulic quick-connect system. The connection to the hydrostatic press pressure is established automatically via these interfaces, without the need to connect the hydraulic hoses manually.
The filling slide is positioned and clamped on the upper punch in a fraction of a second by using the two PPS pneumatic clamping systems.
Converting the press from one production geometry to another takes just a few minutes. The conversion process can be carried out manually, semi-automatically, or fully automatically.
The mold halves are inserted into the clamping chucks of the isostatic dry press manually or fully automatically using a special gripper. Alignment of the upper punch to the lower punch is no longer necessary due to the referenced clamping system.
The gripper for both mold halves is also used for manual or fully automatic installation and removal of the filling slide.
Tool changes and the installation or removal of the filling slide take only a few minutes thanks to the PPS pneumatic reference clamping systems.
The ProGrit technology of the referenced clamping systems is designed for retrofitting existing isostatic dry presses. Existing tools can be reworked with little effort and equipped with the reference clamping system.
High press quality, low scrap rates, minimal reworking of the pressed part, and shortest changeover times lead to a massive increase in the cost-effectiveness of the isostatic pressing process for tableware ceramics.
